Studio Policies
Open Studio Policies 1. Clean up after yourself. Wipe down your wheel, wedging table, and work area. Reclaim clay. Mop if you drip. Leave the studio cleaner than you found it. 2. Respect shared equipment. Return tools to their designated spots. Do not hoard tools at your station. Report any broken or damaged equipment immediately. 3. Kiln and firing rules. Label all pieces with your name and clay body. Follow the posted glazing schedule. Do not move other members' pieces in or out of the kiln without permission. 4. Shared shelf etiquette. Use only your assigned shelf space. Do not touch, move, or rearrange other members' work. If you need more space, talk to staff. 5. Studio hours. Open studio hours are posted on the website. Do not arrive before or stay past posted hours without prior arrangement. 6. Guest policy. Guests are welcome to observe but may not use studio equipment. You are responsible for your guests. 7. Three-month minimum commitment. Your subscription has a 3-month minimum. After that, you may pause or cancel through your member portal. 8. Communication. Check your email regularly for studio announcements. Respond to staff communications promptly. 9. Safety. Wear appropriate clothing. Tie back long hair. No open-toed shoes. Report any safety hazards immediately. 10. Restricted areas. Do not go into the kiln room or beyond onto the patio over the train tracks for any reason. 11. Violations. Policy violations will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Repeated violations may result in membership revocation.
